Hello, since Skydio has stopped sales and the repair period seems too long, I bought a used Skydio 2 for parts.

When I opened it up, it looked like it had been submerged in seawater and dried out without proper cleaning.

Now, can I find out what type of thermal gap filler or thermal compound was used in it?

When I first opened it, the material was foam-like, didn’t flow, and although it was hardened, it wasn’t too stiff and could be removed softly with a brush.

I need to transfer all the chipsets to the newly purchased shell for replacement.

I’m wondering if thermal conductivity and electrical conductivity are necessary for this application.

Also, can you help identify what kind of thermal insulation tape was attached to the contact surface of the chipsets?

Let me know if you need any further changes or additions!

Wow thank you so much. I bought it right away!!!

Here's what GPT said about this compound.

Review of Super Lube 98003 Silicone Heat Sink Compound

Super Lube 98003 Silicone Heat Sink Compound is a non-curing, silicone-based thermal compound designed for efficient heat transfer. Below are some key features and specifications:

1. Non-Curing: This compound doesn’t harden, making it reliable for long-term use.

2. Temperature Range: It operates between -40°F to 500°F (-40°C to 260°C), making it suitable for high-temperature environments .

3. Thermal Conductivity: It has a thermal conductivity of 0.55 W/m·K, helping dissipate heat effectively from electronics .

4. Viscosity Stability: With a viscosity range of 250-310 dmn, it maintains consistent performance even under heat .

5. Applications: Commonly used in electronics, semiconductors, power devices, and automotive electrical systems such as alternators and regulators .

6. Water Resistance: It resists water washout, making it suitable for humid environments .

7. Non-Conductive: Safe for use on sensitive electronic components due to its non-electrically conductive nature.

8. Low Evaporation: With an evaporation rate of less than 0.1%, it offers long-term reliability without significant degradation .

9. Durability: The compound doesn’t dry out or melt, providing stable performance over long periods .

This product is ideal for applications requiring long-lasting thermal management, especially in electronics and power equipment where maintaining temperature control is critical.
