Has anyone gotten Skydio2+ to work in Europe?

No, you don’t need to do it every time. Once you update the drone you can change the wifi channel to manual. If you set it a channel like 40 then the drone will work every time. I’m also in Spain and having no problems now

Same happened to me. You need to try several times until the SSD channel is in one with low interference

I don’t there is a geolocation issue and clearly not with your phone. Since the fix (see above) I’ve been testing and flying the drone and it works perfectly fine

Has anyone gotten Skydio2+ to work in Europe?

I finally managed to make it work. Very painful process... With a Wifi channel scanner and after a hard reset following Majority steps outlined in this thread, I could start to see the SSID in the scanner. However, I was not able to connect with my phone. By switching off/on the drone, I...

A quick alternative (not joking) is to use a microwave, although it may be too weak

You can try to build a Faraday cage where you put inside drone and phone to get the activation. I assume once that is done you can update to latest firmware and hopefully problem is fixed. To build a Faraday cage, just Google it. I’m going to try later today if I can

I assume that if the try is unsuccessful because the drone detects the channel is occupied you need to wait at least 30’ for the next try

Then we need to build a Faraday cage to activate the drone at home! ;)

And this: Are All 5GHz Channels Subject to DFS? No, not all channels in the 5GHz band are subject to DFS. The channels that are exempt vary from country to country, as dictated by local regulations. In the UK/EU, channels 36, 40, 44 and 48 are not subject to DFS. However, all remaining...

Has anyone gotten Skydio2+ to work in Europe?

Wondering if this is what is going on: Before an AP will use a channel that may be impacted by radar, it will perform a “Channel Availability Check” to check for radar signals on that channel. The AP will listen for 60 seconds for the presence of radar signals. If no radar is detected, then the...

Wow…if this is like this, then by going somewhere outdoors where there is no wifi radios around should be enough to see the S2+ Wifi signsl

I asked support again and the response is they can’t guarantee they will be able to develop a fix…what a disaster…

Has anyone gotten Skydio2+ to work in Europe?

Why do you think it could work with an unlocked US phone? I suspect the problem is in the drone's GPS. When it powers on and detects its not in the US, it doesn't advertise its wifi. That is why we are not able to do initial set up and that is why I suspect they need to activate with the drone...
