Hello, (email to Skydio)

In the Drone Community I can find very old blogs from people trying to replace the motor and others 3D printing propeller clips.

My right front motor and clip are involved here. The motor is ‘half’ OK. The axial shaft bent bad and I snapped it off trying to bend it back.

I have it out and it looks like the shaft is not wanting to push out. I might be able to locate a watchmaker with a lathe to make me a new shaft.

People in the Drone community ask, ‘What is the KV rating for a motor’. Apparently motors with the right screw hole pattern can be found but much concern exists if the Skydio controller board can let the Drone function if only one motor is replaced.

So, it becomes the path of least resistance. Contact Skydio for DIY help!

My Drone is Skydio 2 plus. I do not want it to become a parts drone! I wish to know if I can buy a motor and the right front clip?

I know others would like to know too, where to find a compatible motor and the proper specs to begin the journey.

I thought I would ask Skydio for any help. There is no warranty doing my own repairs and I am not even able to add a care package to this Drone as a repurchaser.

Motor parts? Complete replacement? Specs? RF clip?

Help!

Just in case your intention was for someone from Skydio to read your post, it is very doubtful that will happen. This forum is for pilots that use Skydio drones and equipment. It is not monitored by Skydio

Only posted this to give an update after I get a reply.
So far no reply.
I really hope you get a reply from them, their Support page also has a phone number, try it :

Yes. Called using option 5, the Joe Blow consumer request line. Left a message. Today.

Got a reply. No parts sold, they only allow props and batteries and would require $150.00 non refundable repair eval.
They did not give info on the specs , ie. KV rating.
Drone would be shipped to them, they say after repairs they flash the system to ‘calibrate’.

wow, you received a "Reply", which of course is better than nothing. On the KV rating, I believe there have been discussions on the subject on this forum, it is something that Skydio keeps undisclosed.

Keep us posted , please.

Sadly the company stands Pat against offering mechanically inclined Pioneering so to speak.
I see a broken piece I am not afraid.
But electronics circuit components, yea if I know what to replace, I’ll try it.

In a crash, mechanical stuff gets broken. No help getting replacement parts. Other outfits that advertise doing repairs , at least the one I contacted are not willing to sell parts as well.

I guess someOne in the Drone community has to experiment and lead us………I had hopes for tge guy who was going to swap Mavic 2 motors. But he decided to make his Skydio a parts drone after the company stopped selling to the public.

Here is a link to the letter, kinda a bummer.

Have you decided to send yours in for repairs ?
