Here’s hoping the next version of the Skydio will bring in miniaturized LIDAR technology used in the new iPhone 12’s. No low light restrictions, detects smaller obstacles and the point clouds used for navigation can be processed more efficiently than stitched images.

The dual charger with pass through is nice. I can charge other devices from the S2 batteries in a pinch aswell.

At range, I would like to not see disconnects when turning the vehicle back towards home. It’s extremely lame. Meeting advertised range would be a good start. Unofficial external antenna mods would like interfere with OA.

I have no hopes of them doing anything to improve range with this model. Just spitballing. If the X2 controller is compatible and has better range I’d give it a go. The Mini 2 can reach 11,000 meters. That’s just amazing

if they engineered a tiny usb-c LTE dongle the port on top is in a good spot. signal range and orientation would not be a limiting factor.

The thought is the battery contains the 2.4 receiver and better antenna then connects wirelessly to the onboard WiFi like the beacon. Also, I would pay to send mine in for some type of upgrade.

Maybe a new modular battery with an integrated antenna that can extend range and endurance in one shot.

The controller sticks feel toyish. When the XSMax pops out, the antenna / tension mechanism pushes the phone down on the sticks. You would’ve thought AnaFi knew the size of phones and their minimalist cases before they designed these things. I would like to see a range upgrade not so much...
