Confirmed - Skydio IS getting out of the consumer market

Yeah, mine had GPS lock, and was maybe 800ft away, and I was watching it on the map... When all the sudden it just took off in the opposite direction. Very clearly the logic got borked and it thought it needed to go home... To someone else's home. Their support told me to eff off basically and...

Confirmed - Skydio IS getting out of the consumer market

This sure explains why their customer service is complete garbage and they blame the end user for obvious bugs. We (day-one purchasers) were the beta testers, treated like crap, stepped on, and now they've entered into the big-boy market and will cut off the little guy. In a way, I'm lucky...

Request for part from broken Skydio 2 (3D scan for hook plate now available)

Interesting... I wonder if Thingaverse got a takedown request from Skydio.

Skydio 2+ went for a swim

These would be fair points (minus the waterproof beacon,) if Skydio made these flaws abundantly clear. The average user, and even those who belong to this forum would not know that these behaviors exist. ANYONE that owns a drone would assume it would properly RTH.

Skydio 2+ went for a swim

In the beginning their support was amazing. They'd take a look at the flight recording and almost always send out a replacement. This was to help them generate positive PR. Now that level of service is not feasible so they had to dial it back. Most people have not experienced a tragic total...

Skydio 2+ went for a swim

If you've torched a few of these drones, it doesn't sound like you should be a spokesman for these units. I had mine since the first batch, and never wrecked or had a single issue, until a firmware upgrade that seems to have caused others to experience erratic behavior. You ask to what end, and...

Skydio 2+ went for a swim

Skydio botched the programming a few months ago when they released some new firmware -- that's why we are seeing so many issues. The drone should return to HOME, or have the option of doing so, regardless of updated location from beacon or controller. My fly-away experience had nothing to do...

'Fall' movie hilarious depiction of S2

Despite the absurd use of the drone, the movie was decent. Reminded me of Buried, or 127 Hours, in the sense that they really did a lot with a small set/crew.

    Something big is coming...

Like s2 drones randomly flying off and Support telling people it's their fault instead of buggy programming? That would be a nice fix.

'Fall' movie hilarious depiction of S2

Did anyone else see this movie and laugh so hard when they whipped out the S2. They got like 4 miles of range with crystal clear video and control. They also charged it fully in like 20 minutes. If they had used my Mavic 3 Pro I could have believed it, but this was egregious in my opinion. No...

Second drone, same problems - Heres the details

'Commercial' and "Skydio Controller" definitely don't belong in the same phrase, lol

S2 fly-away due to malfunctioning GPS and/or bad programming. Skydio support says "beat it."

There's an obvious issue with GPS that did not exist in older firmware. I never had an issue in the last few years, then boom, flies away and who knows what. Mostly I'm just upset at Skydio support's response. Customer's fault when the drone malfunctioned. Mmmkay

S2 fly-away due to malfunctioning GPS and/or bad programming. Skydio support says "beat it."

I agree with your sentiments regarding range. I've spent a considerable amount of time and money trying to make Skydio honest, but to no avail. The powered extender showed promise, but the flyaway happened the very same day I received the unit. I was actually performing the before of a...

S2 fly-away due to malfunctioning GPS and/or bad programming. Skydio support says "beat it."

I'm sure you're right about the per-drone revenue for the industrial market, but at the same time I doubt that's a major percentage of their overall unit production. I think what's really going on here is that Skydio gave away too many freebies in the beginning and now legit complaints are...
