Skydio support's response regarding my Skydio 2's crash

Interesting. He states that his Skydio flew into telephone wires on the way home. Skydio specifically mention that Skydio 2's OA is inactive when it's landing, so I'm now confused why they accepted his warranty claim and rejected mine and others'. I'm gonna follow up with them right now.

Skydio support's response regarding my Skydio 2's crash

I doubt that. A fellow Skydio 2 owner with a crashed S2 got the response "Please feel free to buy a new Skydio 2 drone. Let us know the order number and we'll prioritize shipping" from Skydio 2 support.

Skydio support's response regarding my Skydio 2's crash

Well, they said that they can't repair it yet. I hope that they'll be able to perform repairs at some point in the near future, though. They mentioned, however, that replacing an OA camera is an extensive and costly repair because they need to recalibrate the OA after installing a new camera and...

    Skydio 2 crash (yeah!)

Well, the funny thing is that Skydio's previous drone, the R1, had prop guards. Now, though, it seems like the software depart is co confident in their AI-based obstacle avoidance that the hardware department felt like they didn't need prop guards anymore. Hmm.

    Skydio 2 Dual Charger - US$129 ??? (update: US$149 now...)

Yeah, I'm gonna send mine back. Just not worth it. I haven't even used it since I've had it. Plus, the more they get returned, the more likely they are to lower the price.

Under the hood Look at the SD2

"The drone that never crashes" - yeah, unless you fly it on planet earth, where things like thin branches and power lines exist. It's sad to see that Skydio's marketing promises #1 don't hold true and #2 their support seems to be trained to reject warranty claims rather than to learn from...

Skydio support's response regarding my Skydio 2's crash

Skydio support finally got back to me with the expected disappointing response: Regarding your crash, Thank you for uploading the logs and sending the video. We are glad that your Skydio 2 survived that tumble. I'm sure you have gone back seen how many close calls you had with thin branches...

    Skydio 2 Dual Charger - US$129 ??? (update: US$149 now...)

Isn't it super-disappointing that they don't even include a simple USB-C cable with a crazy overpriced dual charger!? What you get is just the charger, no cable or anything.

    Skydio 2 Thru The Wires!

Honestly, I don't think this was skill but rather luck. Skydio 2 has proven to not be able to avoid thin stuff many times by now. I think your Skydio 2 coincidentally flew through (and not into) the wires without even recognizing them. So yes, you got lucky big time. I'm not saying that I think...

    New Software Push?

Yeah, same here. I had telemetry before any firmware update as well. Hmm.

    New Software Push?

You mean 5.41.81, right? Here's what my Skydio 2 app showed me as the changes in this firmware release: So according to that, no improvements to the autonomy engine were made, which is disappointing.

Pro Case Thoughts and Slot Designations

Yeah, that'd fit but ... why would I wanna put my phone in there? ?

Pro Case Thoughts and Slot Designations

Got'cha. I still have other unfilled slots, so I don't have the problem that my cable doesn't fit anywhere except for in that slim slot, but ... good to know! :D

    Skydio 2 + Ford Raptor off-roading

Good to know - thanks! Going up there again sometime is on my list for the time before it gets hot in PHX again anyway. Apache Trail has some fun upfill gravel corners, too, where the S2 might actually be able to keep up with. Thanks for the recommendation! ?
