I would like to be able to use 3D scan to fly around an open structure but not go INTO the open structure.
So basically, I want good photogrammetry of the exterior walls/columns of a structure without going inside that structure. Think of large industrial facilities like oil & gas plants.
I think being able to set the distance from objects to something like 20 or 30 ft would suffice to prevent the drone from flying inside as well as help to cover more external area with fewer photos than it does now.
Many of the structures we work with are large open, steel structures. Setting the safe distance to objects at its maximum of 9 ft still allows the drone to fly into these structures and gets the drone so close to the structure that it takes way more photos than I think is necessary for the detail we want.
Is there some feature like this already available or in the works? Like some 'Facade Capture' feature or something?
