Dunno man, that's technology. I can't get mad cause my couple year old drone is marked down. Personally, I feel like I've gotten my money's worth, this drone has been awesome. I think I paid $999 on prerelease. I'd love it if they'd just sell the drone not the packages for cheap. I'd buy another.
Back in the day when I was flying 3DR solos they went on clearance for $300 when they cut their consumer program. I bought three, stack of batteries. Fun to fly with less concern for the cost. I just bought a $199 Mavic mini just because it'll be a throw away drone.
