Who's given a friend the beacon, flown with controller, and Skydio goes out of range. What happens?

I have had a bit better luck lately using an Arm Band meant to carry a cell phone while jogging

Skydio Tracking well slowly through dense woods, but poor tracking going quickly in a more open area.

The Folks who own Meadowlark Ski Area are considering buying and renting drones to guests. They allow me to fly the Skydio to test the concept. But Meadowlark is also the most laid back ski area I have ever encountered.

Skydio Tracking well slowly through dense woods, but poor tracking going quickly in a more open area.

This is another snowboard tracking video with mixed results. The Skydio did a pretty good job tracking me through some dense woods going back to a tipi at Meadowlark Ski Lodge in northern Wyoming. However at the end of this video, I was traveling quickly through a mainly open meadow, and the...

YouTube of my Skydio 2 crash!

I feel for you man. My Skydio crashed too, but mine was in the snow so it wasn't damaged. The one thing that was common between our crashes is that we both hit twigs either late or early in the day when the shadows grow long.

Skydio 2 vs DJI Mavic Pro in a Slot Canyon (Tricky Piloting)

The #Skydio was less stress to fly through the gorge than the Mavic.

Skydio 2 vs DJI Mavic Pro in a Slot Canyon (Tricky Piloting)

The real X factor was the wind was whipping through the gorge pretty good during the Skydio flight, if you look closely you can see my beard blowing in the wind.

Skydio 2 vs DJI Mavic Pro in a Slot Canyon (Tricky Piloting)

This video looks at footage shot in February 2017 manually flying a DJI Mavic Pro, vs footage shot in 2021 autonomously with a Skydio 2 quadcopter. I consider manually flying the Mavic through the slot canyon to be the most technical drone piloting I have ever done. It took me a while to get a...

Wyoming Snowboarding, Skydio Crash Footage, Attempt to Track through woods.

HI, The drone locater function brought up a blank map. I was not in cell tower range where I was using the Skydio2. It was difficult to find as only 1/4 inch of one propeller was above the snow. When I found it, I grabbed it, and it was lodged in the snow, I wound up having to dig it out.

Wyoming Snowboarding, Skydio Crash Footage, Attempt to Track through woods.

I went Back up into the Big Horn Mountains for more snowboarding with the Skydio2. This time the Skydio crashed, it took me 2 days to find it as only 1/4 of an inch (1cm) of one propeller was above snow level when I found the Skydio. The good news is that the Skydio still works and flies after...

Wyoming Snowboarding with the Skydio 2, Pushing the max speed of the Skydio 2

Hi, when I launched the Skydio2 I only had my beacon, no phone, and it took a while for the GPS in the Beacon to sync up with the GPS in the Skydio. However, before I started down I did get the message that the Skydio and Beacon were synced. I am wondering if the tree between me and the Skydio...

Wyoming Snowboarding with the Skydio 2, Pushing the max speed of the Skydio 2

I uploaded the logs to from the Skydio 2 to Skydio INC. I think it lost radio signal between the Skydio 2 and the beacon when I briefly went behind the last tree at the end of this video.

Wyoming Snowboarding with the Skydio 2, Pushing the max speed of the Skydio 2

Back up on the Mountain with the Skydio 2 and my 195cm Lib Tech Snowboard. This being my second day on the mountain with the Skydio, I pressed the Skydio harder by boarding faster, and descending on trails that were a bit narrower with more trees. The Skydio 2 seemed to retreat to higher...

Who's given a friend the beacon, flown with controller, and Skydio goes out of range. What happens?

Nice Video, I had to take off my board and hike up the hill a ways (1/3 to 1/2 a mile) to get my Skydio2 .
