Are you guys removing the gimbal guard when charging your batteries in the drone? I haven't seen it stated anywhere that you can't, but with the drone being on while charging I'm curious?

From what I can tell when I charged my two batteries today, when you charge the batteries the charging lights come on but there is no clear indication that the drone powers up. Of course, without a cooling fan like the Mavics, it is hard to tell if it is on or not. Without the gimbal lock, the gimbal does slowly return to the "neutral" position so there is some power when you start the charging process. But, I agree with you that there is no documentation that I have seen.

I just went through this as I was formatting a SD card. until you start the autonomy engine which is just before takeoff, the gimbal stays limp.

Hmm, in my (limited) experience with the SD2, if you have the gimbal lock off and then you plug in the charging cable, the gimbal will center itself 20 seconds after attaching the charging cable This without manually powering on the bird. Probably not a big issue.

BTW, loved your recent videos! I took my Mavic zoom on a recent trip down Baja on a 1200 GS and it was very hard to use active track and capture decent footage. Cannot wait to try it with my new bird!

You will get some great video down in Baja with the SD2,
