I sold my Skydio 2 to a guy in Germany - he saw my eBay listing and he told me they were not sold there back then. I bought a new Skydio 2+ less than a year ago and have never used it. Since I don’t think I need it, I am contemplating selling it. If I do, you will see a posting in the Classifieds section this afternoon. Here are my questions:

1. If I do indeed sell it, will I be able to buy another used one in about a year? In other words, do you feel there will always be a market for used ones in good condition?

2. Is it in fact true that the Skydio company no longer sells to private citizens and hobbyists? In other words, do they now only sell to pro users?

3. If #2 is true, what will I need in the form of qualifications in about a year when I decide to buy a new one? I am a small business owner in the automotive sector.

Thanks!

1. I don't believe there will ALWAYS be a market, especially since they have moved to only enterprise sales. So the consumer resale market will probably decline. However, I bought a used Skydio 2 a couple of months ago via Facebook Marketplace. In my search, I saw several semi-local postings and several shipping postings (also on eBay). So in a year, there should still be a used market presence.

2. I think that's true. They don't have any way of purchasing their drones through an online store or third-party retailer. However, see below...

3. I'm not sure what qualifications are required, if any. The company I work for will soon need to implement drones into our workflow, so I emailed Skydio and exchanged a few messages before setting up a video call to discuss further. They set me up to meet with the Co-Founder of Cleartopia Solutions (a partner with Skydio who sells the skydio drones) and we discussed what drone and software would fit our needs. After the video meeting, I received a couple of quotes with the prices of each item and the total costs. I didn't provide any qualifications (except an understanding of my job) and they didn't request any "proof". Their new process in selling drones may just require a more hands-on sales approach versus adding items to a cart and checking out.
I'm assuming since you're a small business owner they wouldn't turn down your business.

Thank you for your thoughtful and detailed response. I believe I will cancel my membership in this community since I sold my drone. Thank you and I will pursue getting an enterprise level drone in about a year. Thanks again.
