At least make the site half way believable. To get taken in by something that's so obviously a scam I'd have a tough time having much sympathy for rubes that send them $$. If it's too good to be true then it probably isn't.

A Whois for the site indicates the site owner's info as "redacted for privacy"

Whois is a network tools command similar to ping, traceroute, etc. and can be found with most network tools bundles, even the free ones. I use network analyzer which I like on my android phone, but am not sure about Apple. It will return a bunch of info on who registered a site on the internet.
