Beacon Magnets size and orientation

I just found out the beacon has 4 magnets in it. Strong enough to stick to a vertical surface.
Here is a couple pics showing location and orientation.

Well that’s intriguing. What’s up with that I wonder?

I had to go get mine out and try it, everything in the kitchen is either stainless or aluminum 🤨 - had to go stick in on my car 😜.

Apparently you didn’t discover North America 😎


I’m thinking the magnets have something to do with providing input to the beacons processor when using the “wand” capability. Above my pay grade to say how that works.

A beacon holder using a steel base that had a plastic ring to contain the beacon from sliding off sideways might work well as a handlebar carrier that let you pull the beacon out quickly to wand. I'd still want a tether strap hooked to the bars though.

Sounds like a great 3D winter project.
