Sticks Not Centered - any way to fix this error?

The 2nd time I attempted to use my controller I got the error 'sticks not centered' and couldn't fly. I did the usual excercise the sticks to try to 'fix it' to no avail. I never flew that time. The next day I got it out again and this time I did not get the error and was able to fly. On the Mavic Air I routinely had to recalibrate the controller sticks - is there some mechanism to recalibrate or otherwise clear an error on the controller? I've asked Skydio and haven't gotten anything useful.

Apparently this is not a typical problem. I used the controller for several months trying to work around the error message but eventually it got much more difficult to get it to work without the error, so when I re-contacted skydio they replaced it very quickly. So if anyone ever gets this error - return the controller immediately, it doesn't go away on its own
