if they engineered a tiny usb-c LTE dongle the port on top is in a good spot. signal range and orientation would not be a limiting factor.

Give it up, it will not happen, they will just release new version all together.
Let's hope this time they get it right.

Right, THEY might not do it, but if somehow communication is possible using that port, battery pins, or via physical mod, then we could do it ourselves. I have a feeling that's the only real way.

Wonder what would happen if you put a linux compatible wifi USB dongle on that port. We probably would never have access to the systems that would allow modifying connectivity, but sometimes you can get lucky.

Antenna mod is most likely.

I have no hopes of them doing anything to improve range with this model. Just spitballing. If the X2 controller is compatible and has better range I’d give it a go.

The Mini 2 can reach 11,000 meters.
That’s just amazing

My gut leans towards no drone manufacturer building extra stuff into the batteries for no reason.

I haven't flown my SkyDeuce...Yet.
I did research this Anafi [our TX 's] upgrade.

Sophia from Alienth.cn confirmed my
Suspicion's...YES The DUO II Will Work
On the Skydio2 Anafi Controller...
$469.00
Plus--This Will Work On A Huge Variety of DJI Drones And others...

Don't Forget The::
..Adapter Kit to fit Your Anafi Controller
$39.90

..Dual Suction Cup Mount
$15.00

..Low-Loss 7M [Meter] long pair of cables
$109.00

..Q-- Connect stubby 2.4 & 5.8GHz
[USE When DUO II EXTENDER Not In Use]
$19.90

$469.00 + 39.90 + $15.00 + $109.00 +$19.90 = $652.80
$652.80 + Shipping + Taxes

GOOD LUCK!!

FYI go see Mike's video at Accelerated heights. he tested this and says the Alientech mini antennas suck. they have better ones....the REAL RANGE issue with the Skydio 2 is the antenna design in the Drone itself. Poor sensitivity. Hence, POOR RANGE, which is also why the Drone flies backwards when it loses signal. if it immediately turned around when it lost signal it would take MUCH LONGER to regain signal/video/control. if adding $500 to my drone would give it FACTORY stated Range, i would be ALL IN. Love to see how you fare.....Good Luck !

richinAZ,

Agree 100% with what you say...

The S2's poor interior antenna design itself causes its poor range.

Unless that problem is corrected first no amount of playing with the transmitter will make a noticeable difference,
